About SAFF UK
SAFF UK is a cultural organisation dedicated to celebrating the timeless artistry and enduring legacy of South Asian cinema by bringing classics of India to the big screens of the UK. Our organisation was established to bridge generations of film lovers - those who cherished these masterpieces upon their original release, and younger audiences who have only dreamed of experiencing them in their full cinematic glory.
Partnering with mainstream cinemas to champion inclusivity, dismantle access barriers, and create pathways for both Asian and non-Asian audiences to discover and engage with South Asian cinema in the UK.
We aim to showcase restored versions of these iconic works—while honouring the stories, music, and talent that shaped the golden age of South Asian filmmaking. Through immersive screenings, beloved classic film songs presented on the big screen, and intimate Q&A sessions with the associated talent who made these films unforgettable, the festival seeks to rekindle nostalgia, spark discovery, and ensure that these cultural treasures continue to inspire British Asians for generations to come.
